Sprung!
March 21, 2010
Welcome to my blog about my kitchen and garden!!! Spring has made a wonderful debut this week with gorgeous weather. I have been in the greenhouse planting and dreaming of a year that can only be a vast improvement over the last. Too much rain is worse than too little.
As an introduction, my little farm is located in Upper Black Eddy, Bucks County, PA. In the past, I grew baby salad greens and sold them in NYC; we also did the Greenmarket for a year. The past few years I have been growing vegetables exclusively for my family. Now that my husband, Lewis, and I are empty-nesters, I have started The Kitchen Garden Cooking School to demonstrate my love of cooking from the garden.
This blog is a way for me to keep in contact with my students, to make new friends that love gardening and cooking and to share recipes and photos as the seasons progress. I’m so inspired by some blogs that I have discovered such as Nordljus and 101 Cookbooks. Above you see my first attempt at photography with my new digital camera. Check out Keiko’s and Heidi’s blogs to see some incredible photos!!!
The sorrel, garlic and rosemary are up in the greenhouse, so it’s time for a Spring tonic. This week I’m going to make Sorrel Soup and Sorrel Sauce and Sorrel Salad Dressing and… well, beggars can’t be choosers and anything green will do! Check back in or register to automatically receive an email notice each time there is a new post. Now get outside because Spring has Sprung!
